Permissions Aldoo Snap needs

1 min
Last updated on:

The first time you capture something, macOS will ask you to grant a few permissions. Aldoo Snap can't record your screen, camera, or microphone without them.

Permissions and what they unlock

  • Screen Recording — required for any screenshot or video capture.
  • Camera — required for the camera bubble, standalone camera recording, and Photo Booth.
  • Microphone — required to record audio notes or system/mic audio with a video.
  • Accessibility — lets Aldoo Snap bring a specific window to the front so you can pick exact windows for window capture.

If a permission is missing

If Screen Recording isn't enabled, Aldoo Snap shows an alert with the exact steps: open System Settings → Privacy & Security → Screen & System Audio Recording, enable AldooSnap, then relaunch the app when macOS asks. You can review and grant every permission at once from Options → Permissions.
