Annotation tools overview
Every screenshot (and most video previews) opens into a full annotation editor with a dedicated tool palette.
Drawing & marking tools
- Pen and Highlighter — freehand marks.
- Line, Arrow (the default tool), and Rectangle — straight shapes.
- Numbered step — draggable, auto-incrementing numbered balloons for step-by-step instructions.
- Text — draggable notes you can edit in place.
- Measure — click-drag to measure a distance in pixels, with an editable label.
Other editor tools
Use the color swatch to change your pen color, the eyedropper to pick and copy a color as hex, rulers/guides to add alignment lines, and Extract color palette to open a standalone window listing every color in the image with one-click copy. Undo, zoom in/out, and the crop tool (drag an area, then Enter or double-click to apply) round out the toolbar.
